Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I have created a presentation using Moovly and uploaded it to my YouTube channel, I have never used Moovly before, however I did find it quite easy to use once I got used to it. In my Moovly I have included what conventions I have used in my media product and explained why I used each convention and how they are typical of my chosen genre.

Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social groups?
I have created a presentation using emaze, emaze is another programme that is new to me, when doing my evaluation I wanted to make sure I used new websites as well as sites I was familiar with. emaze is very simple to use, you simply chose a theme and add text and images as appropriate. In this presentation I have explained what social groups my media product appeals to and how I targeted those specific social groups. Powered by emaze

Question 4

Who would be the target audience for your media product?

I have made a short GoAnimate video answering question 4 of my evaluation. The video explains why I have targeted the specific audience, it also explains a little bit about how I have targeted the audience. The video is about 30 seconds long, the video had to be short due to the restrictions of the website, however it does answer the question in detail.

Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Here I have created a video using a website called powtoons, I have never used this website before, however I found it very easy and efficient to use. The video presents all the different programs and websites I have used and explains why they have been useful to me throughout this process.

Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
I have created a prezi which explain the steps that I have taken to ensure that my main task magazine has progressed throughout the process of this task. Final Content Page

This is my finished content page I have changed the layout and the font so that it looks more professional, I have also changed the colour scheme so that it links to the rest of my magazine. I have include a different new artists so that the magazine is more interesting with more variety however I removed the guitar from the background as it mad the content page look to busy and the artist didn't stand out as much.

Final Double Page Spread

This is my finished double page spread I have change the colour scheme so that it links to my front cover and I have chosen to have the image on the right as after asking others the majority of people preferred the layout with the image on the right of the page rather that the left.

Final Magazine Cover

This is my finished front cover I have changed the layout of the text on my magazine as I thought it looked more professional, I have also change the font and the colour, I changed the colour scheme to red and blue as Country Pop music originated in America and I change the background to hay I did this so it looks more conventionally like a Country Pop magazine. Overall I think that this is the best cover as it clearly represents the Country Pop genre and it looks the most professionally made.

Content Page Drafts

I have started to create my content page for my magazine. I have used Many different fonts so it looks more interesting however I think that the font could be a different colour so it links to the colour scheme of the rest of my magazine. I have used a close up image of a guitar in the background, I did this as guitars are typical of the genre and of a Country magazine. In my plan I included a image of my front cover with labels saying the page number, however when I came to making my magazine I realised that it didn't look professional and it looked out of place.

Front Cover Draft 2

This is the second draft of my front cover, I have changed the main image and the title to suit the genre more however I am not sure about the colour scheme as it doesn't stand out a lot and it could suit the genre more. I am going to continue experimenting with the colour scheme and I am going to continue experimenting with the main image to make it look more professional.

Front Cover Draft 1

This is the first draft of my magazine front cover. I have included all the conventions of a Country-Pop magazine such as cover stories, feature stories, date and issue number and a barcode. I have also included a title but I am not sure about the font, I think I could make it more suitable to the genre by having the 'Now' a different font from the 'Country' to show the collaboration of genres. I may also change the image of the artist on the front to make it look more professional and eye catching.

Double Page Spread Drafts

Here I have experimented with the layout and the colour's of my double page spread. I did this so that i could see which colours worked the best and fit with the genre more, I changed the layout of the magazine to so if the image of the artist would look better on the right or on the left like i have shown in my plan. I decided that the image looked better on the right however I am unsure whether the colours I have used are suited to the genre. I have include the typical conventions of a Country-Pop magazine such as a large image of the artist with an instrument, artist quotes around the page and simple but interesting fonts and colours. I have also included a byline to show who took the photo and I have shown the name of the magazine at the top of the page. I am going to experiment further with the colours so they fit my genre better.

Costume Research

As my genre is country-pop I would like my artist to have young, current clothes so that she is more relatable to the target audience. The clothes must have an air of country about them while still looking fresh sop that the artist will appeal to both the country and pop audience. I would also like to use instruments as props in my photo shoot to make the set look more interesting, the instruments would appeal to the country audience more while the casual, young outfit will appeal to both the country and the pop audience.

Font Research

I have decided to change the name of my magazine as I feel 'Country-Pop magazine' is too general and quite boring. The new name of my magazine is 'Now Country' I feel this name stands out more when you read it or hear it while still being clear of the genre.

Magazine Photoshoot

I have done a photo shoot exploring different angles, positioning, lighting and props. I have uploaded the best images onto photo peach so that I could clearly see which pictures stood out the most. This made the selection process a lot quicker as I didn't have to search through all the pictures one by one and I could easily pick out the most effective pictures.

Interview Draft 1

Marie is the newest Country-Pop sensation; she has climbed the charts and reached number 1 in over 20 countries as well as releasing her new debut album and selling over 500 000 copies in less than 24 hours.

Country-Pop magazine interviewed her and asked all about her recent success in the music industry:

CPM: We are so thankful that you have joined us here today and we can’t wait to here all about your new single and debut album.
M: Thank you I am so happy to be here.

CPM: So how do you feel about reaching number 1 in over 20 countries so fast?
M: I cant believe it, its all happened so fast and I am just so grateful to all my fans out there that helped me to reach number 1.

CPM: Yes, and I am sure all you fans out there will be very interested to know what inspired you to become a Country-Pop singer.
M: Well, I have always been interested in Country music ever since I was a little girl; my mum was a huge Country fan so I have grown up around it. I became interested in Country-Pop music after seeing Carrie Underwood live, and then I continued to listen to other Country-Pop artists like Taylor Swift and one of my mum’s favourite singers Dolly Parton, they really inspired me to pursue a career in music.

CPM: Wow so you have a lot of knowledge about the genre, growing up around it, I also hear that write you own lyrics; did you right the lyrics to you new single?
M: Yes I did actually I started to write them when I was about 14, my mum had got me a guitar for Christmas and then I taught myself how to play. I just stared to write and really enjoyed it.

CPM: That's amazing that you started to write so young, have you ever thought about writing lyrics for other artists or collaborating with anyone.
M: No I have never thought about writing for others, but that is something that I might look into. I am really interested in collaborating with different artists, I really love Ed Sheering he has such an amazing voice and I have heard he is great to work with.

CPM: Well, who knows Ed Sheering may want to work with you too.
M: (Laughing) Yeah that would be amazing.

CPM: Well it has been great talking to you, we all hope to hear more from you in the up and coming months.
M: Thank you! Its been my pleasure and I cant wait to get back in the studio and work on my next album.

My Magazine Plan

I am going to combine elements from both a Country magazine and a Pop magazine to create a interesting and professional looking Country-Pop magazine.

I have chosen to call my magazine Country-Pop Magazine, I chose this name because it is simple like the Country genre, I then chose to use a curly, red font, this reflects the Pop genre as it is girly and fun, the red represents both Country and Pop as is bold and stands out on the page.

The layout and style of my magazine will be simple to reflect the Country genre but I will use bright, bold colours to represent the Pop genre and I will use a simple font to make the magazine look professional.
